JEFF WASHBURN w/ THE LES PAUL TRIO: JIMI HENDRIX TRIBUTE
Jeff Washburn: Jimi Hendrix Tribute March 2010 @ The Iridium Jazz Club, NYC I had always wanted to do a Hendrix Tribute show, and when Scott Barbarino presented me with the oportunity to play with the Les Paul Trio, I jumped at the opportunity. I picked out the songs I wanted to do, wrote the charts for the band, and had one rehearsal during sound check! These guys were a pleasure to work with. Here's the lineup: Jeff Washburn (guitar/vocals), Lou Pallo (guitar), Jay Leonhart (bass), John Colianni (piano), Robin Lai (drums).
Blue Jupiter Blue Team Dickinson College April 2010 @ Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA My first run of performances with the band (I think this video is from the fourth show), was with the "Blue Team" - which featured Sam Nulton (baritone) & Chris Dilley (high tenor) who sub in for Di & Jonny on occasion. I joined the group under real "trial by fire" circumstances - the group needed a new lead tenor for this run of four college gigs they had booked, and I essentially had two days to memorize 12 songs! I rocked the jam, and the rest is history.
Blue Jupiter is: Marty Gasper (bass/vocal percussion), Jeff Washburn (lead tenor), Diana Preisler (soprano), Jonathan Minkoff (baritone).
RYNESS - Miss Jennifer (live) May 2010 @ Joe's Pub, NYC This was our first show back at Joe's Pub after Bryce had finished HAIR on Broadway. The Pub has always been one of the band's favorite venues. I think this was the first live show where I incorporated the album BG vocals during the choruses...I think it took Bryce by surprise and fueled his energetic performance. Ryness is: Bryce Ryness (vocals), Jeff Washburn (guitar/vocals), Ben Roseberry (keys/vocals), Jae Ko (bass), Robin Lai (drums).
One Thing - Josh Moore & Jeff Washburn April 2011 @ L.I.C. Bar, Queens Our second appearance at L.I.C. Bar was a lot of fun. That place has a great vibe, and we had a really good turn-out for this show. Our sets consist mostly of Josh's original material, but we also like to include some choice cover tunes. This clip showcases one of Josh's original tunes, featured on his self-titled album available on iTunes.
2/3 Goat "RUN AROUND SUE" LIVE @ The Bitter End January 2010 @ The Bitter End, NYC After seeing Jonathan's gig at Rockwood Music Hall (below), Ryan contacted me about playing with his band. Shortly after this gig, we completed an EP of the band's original material, available on iTunes. Ryan & Annalyse have spent the majority of this year at the Flat Rock Playhouse, NC, performing a Beatles review, as well as acoustic gigs. The band has rotating members, but the ones featured in this video are: Ryan Dunn (acoustic guitar, vocals), Annalyse McCoy (vocals, mandolin), Jeff Washburn (lead guitar), Pat Shaw (bass), Ryan Guerra (fiddle), Zach Jones (drums), Neeley Bridges (BG vocals).
Jonathan Walsh Rockwood Nov 2009 November 2009 @ Rockwood Music Hall, NYC Like many of my other musical connections, Jojo and I met at Ellen's Stardust Diner. I think this clip is from our first gig with a full band. As an added bonus, my parents were in town, so they got to enjoy this show live. Jonathan most recently has been touring the country with his other band, "The Yes Team," playing anywhere and everywhere. Band: Jonathan Walsh (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jeff Washburn (guitar, BG vocals), Ricardo Rodriguez (bass), Mike Lapke (drums).
BROADWAY AFTER DARK
Sweet Transvestite October 2009 @ The Iridium Jazz Club, NYC This performance took me out of my comfort zone and into a very revealing costume and high heels! Jen & I decided to move away from the Tim Curry hair and go with a more punk-inspired look. After many failed attempts to find a good looking mowhawk wig, we discovered some faux fur at a fabric store that did the trick. We cut it into a strip and stuck it on my head with spirit gum.
The costume was pieced together from items bought at Ricky's & Forever 21 for less that $100. Featured in the clip are: Jen [Brooks] Washburn (Columbia), Sean David Johnson (Brad), Kyra Kozlenko (Janet), Jacob Thompson (Rocky).
Jeff Washburn @ The Triad, NYC (Highlights) May 2007 @ The Triad, NYC My show at The Triad marked my first "solo" gig in NYC. The set consisted of some of the sexiest songs ever written in the pop/rock genre (I called the show Sex, Drinks & Rock 'n' Roll). The sold-out show was a triumphant success and a whole lotta fun. Band: Jeff Washburn (guitar/vocals), Ben Altman (bass), Ben Roseberry (keys), Kenny Shaw (drums).
Revolution November 2007 @ Dillon's Reprise Room, NYC This show was the brainchild of Scott Barbarino (ScoBar Entertainment), and featured many pro-peace/anti-war songs (mostly from the 1960s), the themes of which rang true over 40 years later. It ran for three consecutive Saturdays, and was meant to raise awareness of the war in Iraq and promote peace. Here's the lineup: Jeff Washburn (guitar/vocals), Jen [Brooks] Washburn (vocals), Kyra Kozlenko (vocals), Jae Ko (bass), Ben Roseberry (piano), Patrick Carmichael (drums).

THE LAST FIVE YEARS
Jeff Washburn - The Last Five Years (Highlights) August 2006 @ Cape Fear Regional Theater, NC One night during the run of FAME in NC, the company went out to unwind and sing karaoke. I sang my usual karaoke fare ("I Believe In A Thing Called Love" by the Darkness, I think). I guess my performance made an impression on Annie Gane, one of the backstage runners; little did I know she was a super-talented actress. She said, "I want to do The Last Five Years with you; I'm gonna make it happen." Two months later, she made it happen. Here are some of my favorite clips. Credits: Jeff Washburn (Jamie Wellerstein), Annie [Gane] Floor (Cathy Hyatt), Brian Kennedy (keys/musical director), Scott Hester (guitar), Bo Thorp (director).
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
Jeff Washburn - Jesus Christ Superstar (Guitar Highlights) July 2002 @ The Paladium, St. Petersburg, FL This clip highlights my guitar work in a production of JCS I did back in 2002. I was on summer break from college in Savannah, where I had met the MD a couple years prior, when I got the call. I drove down to St. Pete, learned the music in like a day (I was already familiar with the music...I wrote our my own "score" which was really just a bunch of scribbles on 3 sheets of paper), and did 3 shows that weekend. All proceeds from the show went to the Leukemia Research Foundation, and we raised close to $10,000. Band: Matthew McGuigan (keys/musical director), Jeff Washburn (guitar), Billy McGuigan (bass/acoustic guitar), Matt (drums).
VELVET RHINO: A VOCAL MASTERCLASS w/ EDDIE COLLIN
Velvet Rhino - Summer: Presto May 2004 @ SCAD's Mondanaro Theater, Savannah GA In order to graduate college, every Media & Performing Arts major was required to write, produce, and act in a senior thesis show. Throughout my show (the "masterclass"), I gave singers bad advice & insulted them, untill finally the department's music director, Andrew Levine, stepped in to challege my authority as a "master" of music. My proverbial "F-you" was a heavy metal version of Vivaldi's "Summer - Presto." I counted off the song WAY too fast - adrenaline got the better of me - but we all managed to pull out a super-energized performance! Band: Jeff Washburn (guitar), Chris Stanley (keytar), Chris Eanes (guitar), Philip Palmer (bass), Matt Niehoff (drums).
HIGH SCHOOL TALENT SHOW
I'm The One 1999 @ Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School My senior year high school talent show could have been call "The Jeff Washburn Show." In addition to my own performance of Van Halen's "I'm The One" (this clip), I was asked to be a part of four other acts! I played the piano for "Everything I Do (I Do For You)," bass guitar for an original heavy metal song, and sang for two other groups on Hendrix's "Purple Haze" and Korn's "Shoots and Ladders." Band: Jeff Washburn (guitar/vocals/drum track), Drew Harris (bass), Jennifer [Washburn] Paccilli (BG vocals), Nellie Beavers (BG vocals), Chris Moreschi (BG vocals).
